FAQs

  • A chiropractor is someone who focuses on the function of the spine and its impact on the health of your nervous system. Our goal is to help your body heal by ensuring your spine and nervous system are functioning correctly. We do this by making adjustments to areas of your spine that are under stress.

  • An adjustment is the action a chiropractor takes to remove stress and dysfunction from the spine and nervous system. It is a specific, quick, and controlled thrust in the direction that the vertebra needs to move. an adjustment is often performed by hand, though there are a variety of other techniques that we can use.

  • At Mahoney Family Chiropractic, we strive to help as many members of the community as possible towards better health. We are able to help people with a wide array of health challenges by removing stress and interference from the nervous systems, allowing their bodies to heal.

  • Your first visit is focused on determining your health goals. You will be welcomed by our friendly team and helped with any paperwork or questions you may have. During your appointment, the chiropractor will go through your history, explain how chiropractic works, and check your spine and nervous system. If needed, the chiropractor will refer you for X-rays to gain more information about your case. Some patients get a light adjustment in this visit to see how their body responds, but the main focus is gathering the right information in order to make the best care plan for you.

  • The frequency and duration of care is dependent on your situation. Generally, the initial phase of care requires frequent visits in order to see progress and improvement. As care continues, the frequency of appointments often decreases as your body heals. Once the initial complaints or challenges have been stabilized, we often see patients continue with supportive, maintenance visits so they can perform at their best and get the most out of life!

  • We are ACC registered. If you are eligible for coverage under their guidelines, ACC can help subsidize your care.
